Mag. (FH) Matthias Wasinger

Advisory Chair, The Cold War Project

Mag. (FH) Matthias Wasinger, MOS PhD is named as the Advisory Chair to The Cold War Project vertex at the Council for Global Cooperation.

He is the founder and Editor-in-Chief of The Defence Horizon Journal. He joined the Armed Forces in 2001 and followed his training as Infantry Officer. From 2013 to 2016, he attended the Austrian Armed Forces Joint General Staff Course, followed by assignments in the Austrian Armed Forces and the Austrian Ministry of Defence. 2019/2020, he attended the US Army Command and General Staff Course in Fort Leavenworth/ Kansas. He served in various operational deployments under the umbrella of the UN, EU, and NATO.

Matthias holds a PhD in Interdisciplinary Legal Studies from the University of Vienna. He is author of several publications published in books, newspapers, journals, and periodicals.
